In the Annual General-body meeting held n May 30, 2010 new Executive
Committee and office bearers of the Society were elected. The new
Executive Committee has two ladies and total 7 first timers. This is
very encouraging, as it enables inclusive representation in the
Executive Committee.
Our Society has now gone past its formative years; grown as a mature,
responsible and continually evolving social and cultural organisation.
Collective efforts over the past years and active contribution by many
have made our Society an organisation that is well recognised and
respected in the NCR. I would like to thank all who have made this
possible with their innovative ideas, and untiring and selfless efforts.
I specially thank the just retired members of the Executive Committee
for their sincere contribution in the above. Going forward, challenge
has thus becomes even greater, to maintain and improve the benchmark of
organisational efficiency, quality and inclusive social and cultural
development in the Society.
The new Executive Committee has just taken over. Considering the year
long cultural activities, we have decided to assign role of Cultural &
Programmes Secretary of the Society for two year term, running parallel
to the term of this Executive Committee. During the last two years we
also felt the need to provide active assistance to the General Secretary
and Treasurer in view of the increasing volume of work that need
attention in timely manner. We have thus assigned load sharing
responsibilities in two new positions; Assistant General Secretary and
Assistant Treasurer. A senior professional in the Executive Committee
has volunteered to look at the compliance related issues to help us stay
clear in all our legal and tax related obligations.
I am sure; coming years will be an exciting time for the members with
well planned and orchestrated events throughout the year. This however,
will be possible only with your active support and participation at all
times. Our effort will be to create a sense of belonging for the members
as against this being a platform to celebrate the festivities and enjoy
the events with minimum or no participation and support.
We have introduced a Council of the Wise, formed with the past
Presidents of the Society and two veterans who have been associated with
us since the beginning. This will be an advisory council who will offer
wisdom of their experience and recommend on ways for improvement to the
Executive Committee. The Executing Committee will remain the decision
making body on all matters of the Society and carry out the mandates of
the General-body.
With your participation and support, let’s make ours as the most vibrant
Social and Cultural Society in the National Capital Region.
