 Dear Members
It gives me great pleasure to bring to the notice of all our friends, well wishers and patrons that the DLF City Durga Puja & Bengali Cultural Society at its Annual General meeting held on May 25, 2008, decided to hand over the reins of its activities to a newly elected Committee, after the successful completion of tenure of the outgoing Committee under the dynamic leadership of Shri Sunil Guha.
The Society has, over the years, through active participation of its members, been able to generate a series of literary and cultural pursuits of variegated hues and colours. These activities have brought together people from all walks of life to actively join in the carefully planned celebrations throughout the year, as it touched the hearts of one and all with spontaneous participation. To cite a few, a host of cultural activities unfolding around the week long Durga Puja celebrations, Bangla Mela, Bengali New Year celebrations with commemoration of birthdays of Rabindranath and Kazi Nazrul, an evening with Sunil Gangopadhyay for a literary tete-a-tete, songs of Antara Chaudhury were some of the highly appreciated programmes, as they brought together connoisseurs and the cognoscenti, music, literary and art lovers. It would not be out of place here to mention that attendant culinary skills of the family members pulled appreciative crowds from far and wide.
The Society, over a passage of time, has made all out efforts to think out of the box, by setting new bench marks to continuously evolve and produce novel programmes which would titillate the Bengali psyche, and bring out the best in us, by allowing us to showcase our rich literary and cultural heritage.
I am certain that the new Committee will strive for greater excellence during the coming years of its term, and lay new bridges for many more activities, with the active participation of all the members, their families, well wishers and friends.
I, along with my dedicated team would like you to hold our hands in our onward journey to reach for the stars, as we strive to seek greater heights with your unstinted support and cooperation.
